The Greater Nanticoke Area School System. ****************************************************** The five Roman Catholic Parishes of Greater Nanticoke operated the K-8 Pope John Paul II Elementary School system which was Middle States Accredited. It had 360 students at three locations in the city. Pope John Paul II made a significant impact on the quality of education within the community before its closure by the Scranton Dioceses.
